The best wedding photos aren't created — they're captured. The ones that find you years later, stop you completely, and take you straight back to exactly how it felt to be there.

Hi, I'm Gareth....

I'm a documentary wedding photographer based in Co. Louth, Ireland, covering weddings across Louth, Meath, Dublin, Wicklow and beyond.

I have been shooting weddings since 2012 and adore capturing the unique stories that play out at every wedding. I feel very lucky to be given the task of documenting such a big day in a couple's life and creating a piece of history for them and future generations to look through.

I aim for honest, timeless images that not only remind you of how your wedding day looked but also how it felt. Quietly observing and capturing the day as it unfolds, I let moments happen organically and without direction.

Award winning wedding photography

My approach is simple — I let your day be exactly what it should be. No interruptions, no awkward directions, no pulling you away from the people you love for yet another posed shot.

I work quietly, instinctively, always watching for the moments that can't be staged — the nervous laugh before the ceremony, the look between your parents, the chaos and joy of the dance floor. These are the moments that tell the real story of your day.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a wedding photographer cost in Ireland?

Wedding photography in Ireland typically ranges from €1,500 to €6,500 depending on the photographer's experience, style and what's included in the package. As an award-winning documentary photographer with over 12 years of experience, my packages reflect that level of expertise and care. Get in touch and I'll send you full details of pricing within 24 hours.

What is documentary wedding photography?

Documentary wedding photography means I capture your day exactly as it happens — no posing, no direction, no stopping the moment to set up a shot. I work quietly in the background, observing and anticipating, so that what you receive afterwards is an honest, unscripted record of your wedding day. Every laugh, every tear, every stolen glance — captured as it naturally occurred, not recreated for the camera.

How far in advance should I book a wedding photographer in Ireland?

For peak season weddings between May and September, I'd recommend booking 12 to 18 months in advance. Popular dates fill up quickly and once a date is gone, it's gone. Off-season dates — October through April — are sometimes available at shorter notice. The earlier you get in touch, the better chance we have of securing your date.

Do you travel outside Louth for weddings?

Absolutely. While I'm based in Co. Louth, I photograph weddings across Ireland including Dublin, Meath, Wicklow, Westmeath, Kildare and beyond. I'm also open to destination weddings abroad — if you're getting married overseas and my work resonates with you, I'd love to hear about it. Travel costs for weddings outside a 60km radius are discussed at the time of enquiry.

Do you do posed family and group shots?

Yes — but only the ones that matter. I'll work through your list of essential family combinations efficiently and without fuss, so that you're back with your guests as quickly as possible. The goal is to get the important group shots done and dusted in 20 mins, leaving the rest of the day free to unfold naturally.

Are you insured and do you have backup equipment?

Yes to both. I carry full professional indemnity and public liability insurance, and I always shoot with backup camera bodies, lenses and memory cards. In the unlikely event of a technical issue, your wedding day is covered. Professionalism and preparation are things I take as seriously as the photography itself.
