Last month I had the pleasure of capturing Muireann and Darren’s Ballymagarvey Village wedding. If you have had a Ballymagarvey Village wedding yourself or are planning one, Muireann may be a familiar face to you. She is a wedding coordinator there and from what I’ve have observed, a really good one! Having photographed weddings at Ballymagarvey many times before, Muireann’s friendly and bubbly character always came across. I was delighted when she asked me to be her wedding photographer.
For me, it’s always interesting to watch the dynamic between a bride and groom on their wedding day. It was a joy to witness Muireann and Darren’s connection. They properly absorbed their day, literally smiling, laughing and kissing the whole way through it.
The day kicked off with bridal prep at Muireann and Darren’s house. The minute I walked into their kitchen I immediately saw the potential to capture a nice opening storytelling shot. I raised my camera and took my first image of the day, the first shot in the blog below. A sense of calmness flowed throughout the house, punctuated with excited giggles from the girls. Laura from Larabelle make-up doubled her bridesmaid brownie points by taking on make-up duty on the morning.
Muireann and Darren’s wedding ceremony was set to take place in the quaint St.Brigid’s Church in Dunleer. A 1 o’clock ceremony time had been set and my camera’s metadata revealed that Muireann rolled up to the church a staggering 1 hour and 10 mins late! The clocks on my camera were of course actually an hour out, which meant Muireann arrived a not so staggering 10 minutes late 🙂 A beautiful and relaxed ceremony was given by Fr. Michael Murtagh, who kept the couple smiling throughout.
Arriving at Ballymagarvey, Muireann and Darren received a super-warm welcome from their guests. After popping out for some quick portraits and family shots, the newlyweds mingled with their guests and enjoyed some of the mouthwatering canapés.
Following the speeches and a delicious wedding meal, the bridal party and guests hit the dance floor hard, with The Rubix Band banging out the tunes. Alongside me on the day was Andrew from Eyecapture weddings, who I’m bumping into quite a lot these days and is always a pleasure to work with.
Here are a few of my favourite images from their big day at Ballymagarvey. If you’re interested in booking me for your own wedding, you can get in touch via the contact form.
